Ingredients

Ingredients for pastry skin

  • 250g All purpose flour
  • ½ tsp Salt (2.5g)
  • 90g Margarine
  • ½ cup Cold water (120ml)
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa powder (15g)

  • 100g Dates (Deseeded and coarsely chopped)
  • 10 fingers KITKAT® (Finely chopped)
  • 40g Chocolate button chips
  • 80g Cream cheese

Preparation steps for filling

  1. Add KITKAT®, chocolate button chips, cream cheese and dates into a medium saucepan.
  2. Double boil it and stir continuously until a smooth paste is formed.

Preparation steps for KitKat® Puff

  1. Mix flour, salt and margarine in a bowl using a spatula. Add water into the mixture slowly, a little at a time.
  2. Knead the mixture to form a soft, non-sticky dough. Continue kneading until dough is smooth.
  3. Take 1/3 of dough and knead it with cocoa powder. Take the remaining 2/3 dough and roll it into a ball shape.
  4. Set the 2 doughs (Cocoa and original) aside covering it with towel and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Roll the 2 doughs (Cocoa and original) into a long log shape and pleat it.
  6. Roll one end of the dough towards the center and form a ‘spiral shape’
  7. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 0.3cm.
  8. Cut the dough using a 6 or 7cm diameter cookie cutter.
  9. Place the cut dough on your palm and add 1 tablespoon of filling at the center of dough.
  10. Fold the round dough into half, forming a semi-circle and seal by pressing and pleating the edges together. Repeat for the remaining pieces of dough.
  11. Fry the puffs with oil over medium heat for 10 minutes or until it turns golden.
  12. Let it cool and ready to serve.
