Make fasting easier for your loved ones
As the month of fasting starts, your family may not be used to the changes in their sleeping and eating patterns. In fact, they may even struggle with basic activities as they go about their day. The good news? There is such a thing as a more effective and healthier way to fast. Here are just some of the tips that will help ease your family through this holy month of Ramadan.
1.Go for a short stroll: After breaking fast, give your body enough time to digest a heavy meal before bedtime. Any leisurely activity like a 5-min stroll will help keep body weight in check, too.
2.Get a healthy boost: Dates, dried fruits and nuts are delicious treats that pack a punch. Rich in nutrients and fibre, they can help your family stay focused while they fast.
3.Cook family favourites: If your children are fasting for the first time, cook their favourite dishes to give them something to look forward to.
4.Stay away from too much salt: Try to stick to more fresh vegetables and fruits instead of salty foods, as it will only make your family thirstier throughout the day.
5.Enjoy a cup of coffee: If you love to drink coffee, you don’t have to give it up! Have a cup one to two hours after a balanced meal, before starting your fast.
