Ingredients

  • 1 white pomfret, 600-800 grams, cleaned and rinsed
  • 3cm young ginger, peeled and julienned
  • 1 teaspoon MAGGI® CUKUPRASA™
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon MAGGI® Liquid Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon MAGGI® Oyster Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon MAGGI® CUKUPRASA™
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 3 stalks coriander leaves, for garnishing
  • 2 stalks spring onion, shredded, for garnishing

Directions

  1. Firstly, allow the fish to defrost. Then, gut and clean it before washing it under running water.
  2. Next, pat the fish dry with paper towels and make 2 diagonal slits on each side of the fish.
  3. Then, rub the fish with MAGGI® CUKUPRASA™ and place it on a heatproof deep dish. Allow the fish to marinate for 1 hour.
  4. When the fish is ready, arrange the ginger over the fish.
  5. Then, in a bowl, mix the MAGGI® Liquid Seasoning, MAGGI® Oyster Sauce, MAGGI® CUKUPRASA™ and water together.
  6. Pour the seasoning over the fish and place the dish into a steamer. Steam the fish on high heat for 15 minutes or until the fish is thoroughly cooked.
  7. While the fish is steaming, get a sauce pan and fry the minced garlic in some cooking oil until golden brown.
  8. Pour the fried garlic oil into a small bowl and mix it together with sesame oil.
  9. Next, remove the fish from the steamer, pour the fried garlic oil and sesame oil over the steamed fish. Finally, garnish with some coriander leaves and spring onions and serve immediately.
  10. Make sure to serve it while it’s hot with a bowl of white rice and some stir fried vegetables. Enjoy!
